International Women In Coffee Divas Headed to Costa Rica
October 24 - 26th
The First International Women in Coffee Convention will be hosted in the Orosi Valley of Costa Rica this year Friday October 24 - Saturday October 25th, 2008. Women from all of over the world will be converging in the heart of Costa Rica's coffee country while developing their leadership skills, their knowledge of the coffee industry (from tree to cup) and perhaps most importantly working on their organizational mission to make life better for women in coffee producing countries. There will be seed to cup training, workshops on marketing coffee and building trade partnerships, how to build a retail hot spot and making your coffee finca profitable. The attendees will also be visiting the coffee farms of the Orosi Vally which will be in prime picking season and yes there will be a coffee picking contest.
Barry and I shown above will surely not be in the competition. Our friends tell us we do not excel at Cofee Picking. Each year in January we go to a friend's finca for picking the coffee beans followed by lunch. They make us work for it. It's a great family day as coffee picking has been a family tradition for generations. Yes, so you know I do believe Costa Rica Coffee is the best in the world! Let me hear your thoughts on that. And.... if you want to know all about coffee, are thinking of or have a business interest in coffee. Join this exciting conference hosted in Costa Rica. The web-site link is listed below. I'll see you there.
I will be following President Oscar Arias on the conference program. President Arias will be speaking about how women can change the world of coffee and our countries. I will be talking about the Woman's Journey from Now to WOW! and the discovery of the Inner Super Heroine in every woman ( with or without Jumping JAVA!)
