Couples Deciding---Yes To Each Other & Yes to Costa Rica
How Couples Meet and End Up in Costa Rica!
It would Make a Great Play: Above Harry and Joyce (A Chance Meeting)
My husband, Barry introduced these Love birds while owning a Bed and Breakfast Inn in Cape May , New Jersey. Joyce was looking for some place to go out dancing, where there were at least a few people under the age of 70. Barry suggested The Atlas motel on the ocean that played music. True to his recommendation, exactly one man did come in under the age of 70 that night. His name was Harry. That night, the stars aligned in a victorian seaside resort in a true and rare case of love at first site . Harry told Joyce he was going to marry her than night. There was a courtship with roses and Joyce eventually said Yes!
Barry lost track Of Joyce and Harry over the years, until "Flash Forward" she sees my husband on-stage---this time in Costa Rica , not the United States. Barry is no longer arranging chance meetings for inn guests, but doing some fast talking as the charity auctioneer for a Women's Club Event to support youth scholarships in Costa Rica. She tells Barry , "You are the reason we met" "Now tell me the reason you and Rosemary are in Costa Rica." It seemed that both couples had decided to build our Dream Rretirement homes in this tropical paradise. We had picked each other and Costa Rica had picked us. In my case a choice driven by reading a book about living and retiring here.
Face to Face and On-Line Dating Today in Costa Rica -- Yes Both are Here.
Last week I talked with a couple married for 5 years who live in Escazu, Costa Rica, who met each other on-line. Startling stats that 1 in 10 people found found their mates last years in "on-line romances." Indeed, I have more than a few friends around the globe who are reviewing options and candidatee in on-line dating services, which attempt to match values, interests and attraction via "survey profile" as preferable to the odds or desire of going to a local bar and meeting the "one". We do indeed live in a global world afterall. However fear not Traditionalists or Cyberchallenged: If you hate the thought of letters and the thought of an on-line romance, face to face social avenues remain to meet your mate and interesting people in Costa Rica: There's Dancing, Hiking Groups, Social Networks, School, Tennis Matches, Wine Club, The Theatre, Volunteer groups like SASY! www.sasycostarica.com who throw a social party of the year for the Animals. There's Adventure Trips on the Weekends. If you are new in town, first check out the "Tico Times". Sites like AM Costa Rica and Inside Costa Rica for what's happening. Explore groups like the Residents Association and the Newcomers Club.
Note: This is not an endorsement for "Looking for Latin Lovers Programs. " which I see all over the internet. I have no comment or experience on the matter. I will note my personal bias that one should be able to at least communicate with one's date. It's an old fashioned principle but I am sticking with it! Personally, I have observed far too many dinner companions in Costa Rica where there is "asbsolute silence" between the North American Man and the Lovely Costa Rican lass, due to the inability to communicate. So I wonder, " how are they going to get through dessert?" Barry, laughs and says "what makes you think they want to? " Costa Rica Dating Tip: In addition to getting picked up or Picking Up a Companion, do yourself a favor....Pick up the language! Whether you meet your mate via on-line dating or in a chance meeting, Communication is Everything.
